The initial targets were elevated thunderstorm cells to the NW, coming off the Foothills. After an initial pass through a cell at 325o/32 nmi from GXY, an oil loss was noted and the aircraft returned to base.

A pulse of elevated NO was noted just after 1656 MDT (2256 UT) immediately following an abrupt field change indicating lightning near the aircraft.
